Let's Bring Back the Magic

Remember when the Eberhart Family Reunion was so big it made the local paper? When Junior Eberhart was out there roasting a pig all day, and Dale Richardson had us all running around playing games like we were kids again?
Those were the days — the smell of barbecue in the air, cousins chasing each other until someone inevitably ended up with a grass stain, swimming in the river at Eberhart Grove,, and that feeling that no matter how big the world felt, you had this giant family behind you.
Fast forward to this year… we had just under 30 people. It was cozy, the food was still delicious, and the company was good — but it felt different. The energy, the noise, the crowd — it wasn’t quite the same.
So, here’s the question:
How do we get back there?
Do we add a few new games or activities to keep the younger ones entertained? Bring back the pig roast? Add horseshoes or cornhole?
Because here’s the thing — this isn’t just about a day in the park. It’s about keeping the Eberhart spirit alive. It’s about making sure my grandkids grow up with the same wild, wonderful memories I have: running barefoot, laughing until their sides hurt, and knowing they belong to something bigger than themselves.
I don’t want our reunion to fade away into “remember when.” I want it to be something we all look forward to — a day that brings everyone together, reminds us where we came from, and gives the next generation their own stories to tell someday.
So let’s brainstorm! Drop your ideas, share your favorite reunion memories, and let’s make next year one for the books.
Let’s bring the big, loud, full-of-life Eberhart Reunion back — for us, and for the ones coming after us. ❤️
Let’s Hear From You!
💬 What’s your favorite Eberhart Reunion memory? (Pig roast, sack races, someone falling out of a lawn chair? We want the stories!)
🎯 What activities would you love to see come back or be added
? (Games, karaoke, talent show, horseshoes, scavenger hunts?)
🍴 What food traditions should we bring back or try? (Pig roast, potluck favorites, homemade desserts?)
💡 Any fresh ideas for making it bigger and better? (Think outside the box — theme days, t-shirts, reunion photo booth!)
